Mr. Lincoln’s first love interest was not his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, but a young lady named Ann Rutledge, who died at a young age.

Also, before marrying Mary Todd, Lincoln was engaged to another woman named Mary Owens. So, Mary Todd Lincoln, was his third love interest. Another, fun fact about President Lincoln is that he had registered and obtained a patent for one of his inventions. But, no other US President, in American history has a patent for an invention.

President Lincoln is the only US President in history where the United States was divided between North and South. This caused the United States of America to fight amongst itself. Mr. Lincoln did not really want to end slavery, but he felt that it was the only way to end the Civil War.
